Cature is a pleasant smelling and biodegradable cat litter.
It’s great for those living in tight spaces like apartments to keep things smelling fresh.
This litter clumps well, although there is some minor sticking. Dust control is superb.
Tracking is minimal with it’s chunky pellet design. Our kittens used it but it wasn’t their favourite.
The main downside is the price. You’ll need to fork out around $18 to fill the cat litter tray to an optimal depth.
Whilst I liked the smell, not everyone will share the same positive feelings.
Product Testing Information: Cature Tofu Cat Litter
I bought the cat litter reviewed in this article for a hands on test. This includes dust testing with an air quality monitor and letting our cats use the litter.
Learn more about our testing methodology
Here are the nitty gritty details and photos from our testing to glance at.
Dustiness
Cature tofu cat litter is low dust.
I used an air quality monitor and tested Cature tofu cat litter using three tests. At no point did levels go into harmful ranges.
This makes it an excellent option for those concerned with health. Data and video footage below.
Very little litter tracked when touching it, which could be due to the heaviness of this litter. A tiny amount of residue is leftover in the litter tray after use.
Air Quality | 15cm | 15cm pat test | 30cm |

Cat Preference and Usage
I tested Cature tofu cat litter with a control (Smitten clay litter).
My two kittens didn’t enjoy this one as much as clay. I found similar hesitation to another tofu cat litter (Michu).
The scent might put off kittens, but I’m not sure if that’s why they didn’t use it as much.
For some reason, they used this litter to pee but only using it for poo once over three days of testing. I’d need longer to test, but it might take time for your cats to warm up to this one.
Urine didn’t produce any noticeable odor and produced hard clumps. They stuck a little to the bottom a little sometimes, but weren’t hard to remove.
Tracking was minimal in my experience.

Review Limitations
I only used this litter for 3 days (one to acclimate the kittens to the litter, and two for testing). This may not be enough time to find out if our kittens liked it best.
I emptied the litter tray four times to try make sure the trays were clean at all times to reduce bias. However, I couldn’t empty the tray at night so that might have influenced results.
Finally the litter boxes used in this article are only 42cm long. Research suggests cats prefer larger boxes (at least 1.5x the size of your cat).
